How does money go back to my school?

Of every deal that is purchased, Schoolit donates 100% of our proceeds back to the school linked with that specific coupon.  At the end of each month, we then write a check to the schools that are raising money through our website. Once a school receives a Schoolit check, they can use it to support whichever programs they see fit! 

How can Schoolit help my school's fundraising?

Schoolit is effective because it’s easy.  We provide schools with year-round, passive income, and give everyone who wants to get involved an easy way to participate. 

Are Schoolit donations tax deductible for my school?

For schools that are considered 501(c)(3) charities, all of the donations that Schoolit makes are considered contributions and therefore not part of the school's income.  As a result, Schoolit donations are tax deductible for schools considered to be 501(c)(3) charities.

How do I track my school's success with Schoolit?

When shoppers visit their school's fundraising page, Schoolit will donate 100% of our proceeds from every transaction on that school's fundraising page back to that school.  Schools can track how well their school is doing through their school account, which gives real-time updates about each transaction on their site.

How can I help local businesses sign up to support my school through Schoolit? 

Think and act locally.  Speak to the owners of businesses where you shop the most - encourage them to review Schoolit’s website and sign-up online!

How do I know if a certain business is already associated with Schoolit?

How much will it cost for my school to participate?

Nothing, Schoolit is FREE!  And we want to help schools at no cost.

If my school sends eblasts to their network, how can they ensure privacy?

Schools’ email lists remain confidential and are never shared with merchants or anyone outside of their network.  Schoolit can either provide schools with customized jpeg eblasts for schools to send their own campaign, or schools can use Schoolit's free, emailing service (which they can access through their school account) to send eblasts to their network.

Are there restrictions on how the Schoolit donations are spent?

There are no restrictions – schools can use their Schoolit donations to help whichever programs they see fit!

Why would businesses want to advertise to local schools?

It’s about community.  Merchants involved with Schoolit show their community that they’re invested in helping local schools.  When schools inform their large networks that merchants are supporting them by offering a deal on Schoolit’s website, merchants receive immediate exposure to the local community, and individuals associated with local schools want to patronize that business.  Schools support local businesses, and local businesses support local schools.  It's a win-win!

Is Schoolit a non-profit?

Well, we should be!  We donate 100% of our proceeds from all transactions on our site back to local schools, but we're not a non-profit - Schoolit raises money through advertising to keep our service free for our schools, users and merchants.
