Why should my business get involved in Schoolit's program?

Because businesses can now support local schools while simultaneously obtaining a new, loyal client base with Schoolit's free advertising!  Once you have registered a deal on Schoolit, schools and Schoolit will tell our large, local networks that your deal is giving back to your community, and you'll receive immediate exposure to individuals want to patronize your business.

Have merchants who have already participated in Schoolit found this to be a successful program?

YES!  Schoolit’s deals have been able to promote businesses in their local communities while providing them with a means to give back to their local schools. Merchants have found that participating in Schoolit is an incredibly cost-effective way to acquire recurring, loyal customers.  

How does money go to schools?

Of every deal that is purchased, Schoolit donates 100% of our proceeds back to the school linked with that specific coupon.  At the end of each month, we then write a check to the schools that are raising money through our website. Once a school receives a Schoolit check, they can use it to support whichever programs they see fit!

How do I ensure that the money goes to the school I want it to?

Our location-based technology automatically places your deal into your neighborhood schools’ deal pages.  If you have a certain school that you would like to support, however, please let us know and we can make your deal specific to that school’s fundraising efforts.

How much will it cost for my business to participate?

All of the adverstising is free - you can post a deal whever you would like, and we'll promote it to your community!  When a deal is purchased, Schoolit returns 50% of the profits back to your business so that you can cover your costs, and the remaining 50% -- which is 100% of our proceeds -- is then donated to a local school (for example, of a $20 deal, a merchant would receive $10, and the remaining $10 would be donated to a local school).

How can Schoolit’s deals work for my business plan?

How many people are on schools' email lists?

Each school has their own email list. The smallest school has about 150 students, and the largest has over 4,000 students.  School email lists target students, parents, teachers and alumni.  

How often are school email blasts sent out?

Schoolit sends eblasts of deals out to our network on a daily basis.  Schools will manage their own email lists, and will send email blasts as often as they wish.  We encourage schools to email their community with news of deals, events and school-related programs, and Schoolit provides creative support in creating school-specific eblasts.

How will the community know my business is associated with Schoolit ?

Shoppers can search for a business on www.justSchoolit.com,  and Schoolit provides merchants with Schoolit stickers and online widgets that shoppers can see in their stores or on their websites.

Can shoppers use smart phones to buy deals?

YES!  Check out the newly developed Schoolit iPhone application on the iPhone app store, which allows users to view and purchase coupons and marketplace deals, as well as stay current with school news and events.

Can shoppers buy Schoolit deals directly in stores?

All transactions are done online through www.justSchoolit.com or our iPhone app so that there are backed up records of the purchase.  This is done to protect both the shoppers and the merchants.

What is the difference between Community deals and Coast to Coast deals?

Community Deals are coupons created by local merchants, and these merchants give a higher percentage back to local schools.  Coast to Coast deals are discounts from our nation's largest retailers and are usually great discounts for shoppers, but schools earn a lower percentage on these deals.

Is Schoolit a non-profit?

Well, we should be!  We donate 100% of our proceeds from all transactions on our site back to local schools, but we're not a non-profit - Schoolit raises money through advertising to keep our service free for our schools, users and merchants.
